Congratulations to Tamara Atkinson and Ennerdale Marquis

Congratulations to Tamara Atkinson and Ennerdale Marquis (Marbling Nafara – Ennerdale Montanya) on their recent Endurance successes. They were 1st Heavyweight 80km at the Great Western Twilight Ride on 03/12/2016 in a time of 5.30.00 and then 1st Heavyweight 80km and Best Conditioned at the Raglan Twilight Ride on 04/03/2017 in a time of 5.47.00. Ennerdale 47th Annual Bull Sale Report , March 6th 2017

31 Poll Hereford bulls were offered at the 47th Annual Sale on Monday 6th March resulting in a total clearance & average of $4725. Ennerdale Avenal (P) was the top price bull selling for $9000 and he was secured by repeat buyer, Merseybank Hereford Stud in Tasmania. Peter Godbolt, Landmark Studstock purchased the bull on behalf of Geoff Heazelwood. Lot 5, Ennerdale Bannister (P) also headed across the water to Tasmania to Lawrance & Judy Fry for $7000. Long time purchasers David & Michelle Elsom paid $7000 for another Allendale Bushman son, Ennerdale Bancroft. The Kenna family from Cliffney Park Farms, who have been buying Ennerdale bulls for 56 years, purchased two Ennerdale Archer sons at $5000 each. Other buyers to purchase multiple bulls were Vuillermin Past Co, W & F Tyrer, L & L Robilliard, James Parker, MJ & PE Whelan, B & G Richens and Damien Phillips. Bulls sold from South Australia to Gippsland and Tasmania. The selling agents were Charles Stewart & Co and Landmark with Peter Godbolt auctioneering. 2016 Weaner Sales.

Bill Tyrer (centre) with Kate Luckock and her nephew Tom Gough at the Colac/Birregurra Weaner sale held on the 11th January 2016. Bill and Frances Tyrer topped the Hereford steer sale, selling their 373 kg Ennerdale blood calves at $1140.00. Congratualations to Bill and Frances on a terrific line of calves.   Photo credit: Michelle Elsom  Congratulations once again, to David, Michelle,Emily & Grace Elsom, on a great line of calves and a successful sale of their Old Ripponhurst steers at the Hamilton Weaner sale on 6th January 2016. Their first pen of 368 kg Ennerdale blood calves sold for $1181.42 to average $3.21 kg. Their second pen of 321.9 kg calves sold for $1062.19/$3.30 kg and the third pen of calves with an average weight of 278.2 kg made $931.91 to average $3.35 a kilogram.                ... read more

Cattle semen packages

Ennerdale has continued to source new genetics with the purchase of semen packages in three new sires. Cascade Fahey (P) – Fahey was purchased privately by Cannawigra Poll Herefords for $14,000. His sire was the top priced bull at Dubbo 2008, selling for $32,000. Fahey is tested Homozygous Poll. Ennerdale purchased semen at the Cannawigra Dispersal Sale. Yarrandabbie Jingle (P) – Jingle was a class winner at the 2015 Wodonga National Show & Sale. He was the top priced bull selling for $40,000 to the Yavenvale Stud. Jingle is out of a tremendous cow with proven performance (previously selling sons to $17,000) and his pedigree offers us a complete outcross. Allendale Anzac E114 (P) – Anzac was sold at the 2011 Dubbo Show & Sale for $30,000 to Injemira Poll Herefords. Since then Anzac has made a significant impact within the breed.
